I too have had the same exp...Thank you for sharing. I too have had the same experience with alcohol since I've been back. It's hard and it's socially awkward not drinking, but in being true to my "new self", I just don't feel the need to drink as I used to. I met some friends out the other night for drinks and was met with disappointing looks when I ordered tea, as if alcohol is some initiation into bonding and the only way to have a satisfying night. At any rate, I still like a beer now and then, but have noticed I'm good after one and don't want to drink myself into oblivion. I think we're better off for it when it comes to health, but I also think it's important to be easy on ourselves if we want to whoop it up some night and also to not hold ourselves to such impossible standards that if we have a drink we feel like we've ruined all of our hard work and efforts.
